How agencies can use AI for Meta Ads client reporting
Guide · 2 min read · Updated 2026-10-06 · By the Cofoundr team
Use AI to draft the narrative and the recommendations, not to produce the numbers. Give it real data, ask it to explain changes against the previous period and the target, and have a person check every figure before the report goes to the client.
Reporting is the most repeatable writing an agency does, which makes it a natural place for AI. The risk is also obvious: a confident sentence built on a wrong number is worse than a blank page. The way through is to let AI do the language and keep the data and the final check firmly in human hands.
What AI is good at in a report
- Turning a table of numbers into a short, plain-language summary.
- Comparing this period with the last one and describing what moved.
- Suggesting possible reasons you can then check.
- Adjusting tone for different clients, from a casual owner to a formal finance team.
- Drafting next-step recommendations for you to edit.
What it must not do
- Produce numbers from memory. Every figure should come from your data source.
- State a cause as fact when it can only be a hypothesis.
- Hide bad news. A softened summary of a poor month damages trust.
- Add promises about future results.
A workflow that stays accurate
- Pull the numbers from the source of truth, with the same date window and the ad account's own timezone as the dashboard.
- Give the AI the data, the previous period, the client's target and how the client likes to be addressed.
- Ask for a fixed structure: headline, results against target, what happened, what we changed, next steps.
- Ask it to list the figures it used, so you can check them quickly.
- Edit the tone, remove any claim you cannot support, then send.
Keep data safe
Before pasting client data into any AI tool, check your client agreement and the tool's data terms. Prefer approaches that give the AI scoped access to the account over copying exports around, and never share more than the task needs.
Where Cofoundr helps
Cofoundr builds the report from live data, compares it with the previous period, drafts a summary and recommendations, and lets you review before it sends. Hadya, the assistant inside Cofoundr, answers questions from the selected account and date range, and you can connect Claude or ChatGPT through MCP. See also the monthly report template.

Can AI write the whole client report?
It can draft the narrative well, but the numbers should come from your data and a person should review the final version before it is sent.
How do I stop AI from inventing numbers?
Give it the data to work from, ask it to cite the figures it used, and check them against the dashboard. Never accept a number you cannot trace.
Is it safe to paste client data into an AI tool?
Check your client agreement and the tool's data terms first, and share only what the task needs. Scoped, read-only access is safer than pasting exports.
