A daily Meta Ads account check routine for agencies
Routine · 2 min read · Updated 2026-10-06 · By the Cofoundr team
Check each account in the same order every day: delivery, spend against budget, cost per result against target, audience fatigue, and anything unusual. Look closely only at accounts that break a rule, and write one line about every change you make.
Without a routine, the daily account check depends on who is doing it and how busy they are. With one, a new team member does it the same way as a senior one, and nothing important is missed. This SOP is built to run by exception: you spend your time only on the accounts that need it.
The five checks, in order
- Delivery: are ads active, approved and spending? Any rejections, payment problems or restrictions?
- Spend against budget: is the account on pace for the month, neither far ahead nor far behind?
- Cost per result against the client's target: is it in range, climbing or falling?
- Audience and creative fatigue: is frequency rising while click-through falls?
- Anything unusual: results at zero, sudden spikes, tracking that looks broken.
Check by exception
Do not open every account in depth. Rank them first by what needs attention, then work from the top. A healthy account with results in range needs a glance, not twenty minutes. This is how a small team can look after many accounts without the day disappearing.
A time box you can keep
- Triage all accounts: set a fixed block and stop when it ends.
- Healthy accounts: no action, no note.
- Accounts that break a rule: investigate, decide, act.
- Anything unusual or uncertain: flag it for the weekly review instead of guessing.
What to write down
After any change, write one line: what you changed, why, and what you expect to see. This takes seconds and is what makes handovers and monthly reports easy. See knowledge transfer when someone leaves for why.
The weekly deeper pass
- Review the top ads and ad sets by spend, not only the problem ones.
- Check creative age and plan the next refresh.
- Look at wasted spend across the week.
- Compare the week with the previous one and note the trend in the client record.
Where Cofoundr helps
Cofoundr runs most of this for you. It reviews every connected account each morning, scores them with the health score, finds wasted spend and alerts you when cost per result climbs, spend runs off pace or an audience tires. Your daily check becomes opening the accounts it flags.

How long should a daily check take per account?
A healthy account should take a minute or two. Only accounts that break a rule need real time, and a fixed time box stops the routine from sprawling.
Should every account be checked every day?
Every account should be reviewed, but by exception. The point is to spot the ones that need you, not to read every metric every day.
Can this be automated?
Much of it can. Rules and alerts can watch for spend off pace, rising cost per result and tired audiences, so people handle only the exceptions.
